![]() ![]() They have tighter integration to SQL Server and other relational databases. Power Pivot and Power Query can be used to handle well over a million rows of data. Power Query is included as part of Excel 2016 and can be accessed through the Data menu in the Get & Transform section. Click on Go and select "Microsoft Power Pivot for Excel" and click OK. Use the "Manage" drop-down list and select "COM Add-ins". In Excel 2016, Power Pivot can be accessed by going to File\Options\Add-Ins. ![]() I'm not one to usually get a "dummy" book, but I found this book very helpful in explaining the use of Power Pivot and Power Query with several examples and walk-throughs along the way. I recently decided to teach myself these features using the book "Excel Power Pivot & Power Query for Dummies" by Michael Alexander, published in 2016 and found on Amazon here. ![]() I'm talking about Power Pivot and Power Query. And I'm not talking about now allowing over a million rows and over sixteen thousand columns. But Excel has features that allow use with big data. Some may think that Excel should be replaced by more powerful tools out there, like R or Python. ![]()
